International District Energy Association's video: A Conversation with IDEA 2019 System of the Year TECO

@A Conversation with IDEA 2019 System of the Year TECO
IDEA is pleased to host this informative webinar with 2019 IDEA System of the Year Award winner and long-time IDEA member Thermal Energy Corporation (TECO). With 120,170 tons of chilled-water capacity and 980,000 lb/hr of steam capacity, TECO serves the Texas Medical Center campus comprising 16 different institutions totaling over 22 million sq ft of space. Upon accepting this prestigious award, Brad Howell, TECO board chair, noted that "TECO has a very daunting and simple mission – which is to be perfect 100 percent of the time for the Texas Medical Center campus. Every minute of every day they have to be up. If they fail in that mission for even a moment, people die, and billions of dollars of research go out the window. That is a zero-fail mission if ever there was a zero-fail mission." In the webinar, you'll learn how the system has demonstrated remarkable reliability and resiliency, including maintaining full service capabilities to customers during multiple natural disasters and severe weather events, such as Hurricane Harvey in 2017.  Theirs is a story we think you'll want to hear.
