In this video I show my installation of a smart WiFi Honeywell thermostat to control my Mr Heater Big Maxx shop heater. To use a regular simple mechanical thermostat you only need to use the two wires. But, to use a smart thermostat you also need to use the C or common wire. In my case I also wire the fan separately.
