Iowa Outdoors's video: Waubonsie State Park Iowa By Air

@Waubonsie State Park | Iowa By Air
Only a few miles from the river’s banks juts the unique topography of the Loess Hills. 20,000 years ago, river sediment dried in the valley and westerly winds deposited the silt into these signature hills…now covered with trees. Here at the southern tip of the Loess Hills rests Waubonsie State Park, named for chief Wabaunsee of the Potawatamie tribe. Nearly 2,000 acres stretch out along ridgelines, terraces, and a sprawling view of fall color. Establish in 1926, this state park reaches elevations of 1,099 feet before plunging back to the lowlands of the Missouri River valley.
