Upside down on the Orbit roller coaster at Six Flags Great America! At first glance, this spinning wheel looks like a calm classic Ferris wheel. However, once you climb inside one of the gently rocking covered cars, you’ll realize it’s nothing but calm. The wheel structure starts to turn, whirling you around and around horizontally as your car swings and spins from side to side. After a few circular rotations, Orbit begins gaining power and speed, and soon the wheel starts to rise up vertically, higher and higher until it’s standing like a Ferris wheel! Now you are revolving in a high-speed Ferris wheel, rotating and swinging wildly as you take in an incredible overhead view of the park. Just when you get to the top of circular route, your individual car flips over, sending you spinning around the wheel in a twisting, whirling, flipping rage.
