This Ballpark in other words stadium was built as a substitute in other words replacement for New York Mets' old stadium She's Stadium that opened in 1964 next to where 1964's New York World's Fair takes place. 4. Citifield was named after Citigroup, which is a New York financial service company that purchased the Naming Rights. 5. The construction costs $900 million to build the massive Citifield for the New York Mets. 6. First game since March 29, 2009 between St. John's & Georgetown as a college baseball match & then on April 13, 2009 was their 1st regular season home against San Diego Padres after their first 2 games against Boston Red Sox since April 3 & 4, 2009 as a exhibition game for charity. 7. Inside Citifield is the New York Mets Hall of Fame & Museum especially when it talks about New York Mets in MLB History plus a gift shop. 8. Citifield has a capacity during MLB season that can hold 41,922 people, that's a lot of people. 9. Citifield is right by Flushing Meadows Corona Park even Queens Zoo & across from the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center.
