From inside Central Park Zoo's Tropic Zone Exhibit in Manhattan since Tuesday, 8/16/2022 just in time for Labor Day on Monday, 9/5/2022. Here are cool facts about the Chuckwalla🦎: 1. Bronx Zoo & Central Park Zoo has Chuckwalla on exhibit under WCS. 2. Scientific Name = Sauromalus Aler. 3. Chuckwalla is a 🏜️ 🦎 (desert lizard) that escapes heat & threats by hiding in rock crevices. 4. Just like Lesothosaurus from South Africa during the Jurassic time period, it camouflages. 5. When threatened, it puffs up like a Porcupine Pufferfish (🐡) to make themselves bigger & harder for predators to pull them out. 6. Living in Southwestern North America to Northwestern Mexico in the Sonoran 🏜️ especially when it's range extends from Eastern California, Utah, even Nevada. 8.
