@Kosciuszko Bridge in a hot late Summer Afternoon distance
From 39th Street on the Queens Midtown Expressway miles closer to 7 train's 40th Street- LoweryπŸš‡πŸ’œ & LaGuardia Community College since Sunday, 7/10/2022 while cars (🚘) & other vehicles go by going towards Long Island, Manhattan by Queens Midtown Tunnel, & Brooklyn crossing the Kosciuszko πŸŒ‰ on the Brooklyn Queens Expressway. Spoiler = First time I crossed the Kosciuszko πŸŒ‰ by myself was by B24 🚍 since July of 2017, which is 3 years before the stressful COVID-19 Era since Monday, 3/16/2020. And now ladies & gentlemen enjoying their Summer in New York City, here are some facts about the Kosciuszko BridgeπŸŒ‰: 1. Total length = 6,021 feet in other words 1,835 meters long. 2. Longest span = 300 feet in other words 91 meters long. 3. This πŸŒ‰ was named after Tadeusz Kosciuszko who was a preeminent national figure in history especially for Poland's brawl for independenceπŸ‡΅πŸ‡±. 4. Since July in 1940, it was formerly known as the Meeker Avenue πŸŒ‰ until it was renamed as the Kosciuszko πŸŒ‰ as a symbolism for a revolutionary spirit that bonded PolandπŸ‡΅πŸ‡± & the United States of AmericaπŸ‡ΊπŸ‡². 5. Since October 1 in 2017, it approaches to the former main span were demolished with a detonation of 944 small explosive charges because it was the largest explosive demolition & the very first πŸŒ‰ there. 6. A cable-stayed πŸŒ‰ connecting in both directions on the Brooklyn Queens Expressway at Brooklyn's Greenpoint section & Queens's Maspeth section over the water called Newtown Creek. 7. In the MTA NYC Transit, a 🚍 called the B24 crosses the Kosciuszko πŸŒ‰ towards πŸŒ‰ Plaza right by J & M train's Marcy Av Subway StationπŸ€ŽπŸ§‘πŸš‡ in Brooklyn's Williamsburg section & West Street near G train's Greenpoint Av- Manhattan AvπŸ’šπŸš‡ in Brooklyn's Greenpoint section via Queens's Sunnyside section. 8. Since April of 2017 6 months before Kosciuszko πŸŒ‰'s main span were demolished on October 1 of 2017, the eastbound of the πŸŒ‰ itself was opened & then 2 years later since August in 2019 is when the westbound of the πŸŒ‰ itself was opened. 9. If you look closely at Kosciuszko πŸŒ‰, it reminds me of Golden State Warrior's logo in the NBA, which is the Oracle Bay πŸŒ‰ in California as its huge upgradeπŸ€. 10. First opened since August 23 in 1939. 11. According to the police from the Police Department in New York City, 🚚 that are big will be inspected during various times between the Kosciuszko & the Verrazano Narrows πŸŒ‰. However for 🚚 drivers, the fine is $7,000 if the driver's big 🚚 is overweight & will have to exit, which is also according to the rules. 12. Has a πŸš΄β€β™‚οΈ & 🚸 (pedestrian) path, which is 20 foot wide. 13. The lead designer that designed Kosciuszko πŸŒ‰ is HNTB for an important project for the new Kosciuszko πŸŒ‰ that carries traffic over Newtown Creek on the Brooklyn Queens Expressway linking Brooklyn & Queens because a new cable-stayed πŸŒ‰ substitutes the structurally deficient's 76 year old existing span & among the region's first major cable-stayed πŸŒ‰ throughout history. 14. This πŸŒ‰ is a connection to the Long Island Expressway after leaving Brooklyn going into Long Island from Queens Midtown Tunnel in Manhattan while going through Queens, but also to the Queens Midtown Tunnel towards Manhattan from Long Island & Queens.
