Undisputed heavyweight champion of the world Evander Holyfield, fresh off his last defense against Bert Cooper is facing former heavyweight champion Larry Holmes in his third title defense. Larry Holmes was on the coming back trail after his second failed attempt to become champion again against Mike Tyson almost 4 years earlier. Though Holmes did not win the title against the 29 years old Holyfield, he showed a gallant effort against his much younger opponent and reminded the crowd of his ring experience and pistol right hand and famous jab which landed quite often. The Easton Assassin would later attempt to challenge for the WBC crown again in 1995, against Oliver McCall at age of 45. This fight marks Holyfield's last successful title defense as the undisputed heavyweight champion of the world as his next title defense would come later on against 25 years old challenger Riddick Bowe!
