JCA ELITE SCUBA's video: What happens to your paperwork when a dive shop closes or goes out of business

@What happens to your paperwork when a dive shop closes or goes out of business?
Every certification agency has paperwork that must be completed and maintained for a certain number of years. That paperwork is documentation that the academic and in-water work was completed and includes liability release forms, medical history questionnaires, and student identification. Since the scuba industry is self-regulated, when a dive shop closes there isn't any government intervention or requirement to continue to maintain files or documentation as the agreement is between the dive shop owner / instructor and the certification agency. Was your paperwork completed fully and appropriately? Was your certification properly submitted to the certification agency for processing and issuing of certifications and rankings?
