【 Lacquered scissors / 漆塗りハサミ】 We have started trial production of lacquered scissors as our new project (Lacquer is called “Urushi” in Japanese). By the request from a foreign customer, we have produced scissors with a design of rooster lacquered. Please watch the video of this production process. As our scissors, lacquering is done by an artisans based in Iwate, Japan. Beautiful embossed rooster was lacquered for two months by repeating overpainting many times. Japanese tradition "lacquer" and our technology “scissors” made the only one scissors in the world. What is “Urushi”? Urushi is a Japanese word meaning lacquer, and is a natural resin paint made by sap collected from lacquer trees. Because of its high adhesive strength and beautiful shiny appearance, it has been used for craft products for a long time. Currently, application to various fields is expected. 弊社の新たな取り組みとして試作を始めた、漆塗りのハサミ。海外のお客様からのご要望で、ジョーウェルのシンボルでもある「鶏」を漆塗りしたモデルが完成しました。その生産工程を動画でご紹介します。 漆塗りは、弊社工場と同じく、岩手県を拠点とする職人が手掛けています。約2カ月をかけて、何度も重ね塗りをすることで、立体感のある鮮やかな鶏が描かれました。日本の伝統「漆」と、弊社の技術「鋏」がコラボレートした、世界に一つだけのハサミです。   ＜漆とは？＞ 漆は、漆の木から採取した樹液を加工してつくられる天然樹脂塗料です。接着力の強さや光沢の美しさのため、古くから工芸品に多く使用されてきました。現在は、様々な分野への応用が期待されています。
