You're not a true backpacker traveling through Vietnam without an experience on a sleeper bus. Whether you're traveling a few hours during the day or over 12 hours overnight, sleeper buses are a common mode of transportation to major destinations in Vietnam. On the day I left Hoi An, I went to the Sinh Cafe office (not a sponsor) and booked a ticket on a three-hour route to the former capital, Hue. The cost was 99,000 dong (about US$4.40) and was able to book a back seat, which afforded more legroom but left me with the potential of lying next to two other people for the jounrey.
