Our next stop is Phong Nha-Ke Bang National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. I only spent one night and one day there, but I fell in love with the place the moment I saw the silhouette of mountains in the night sky. This national park is home to 300 caves and grottoes, and protects an ecosystem of limestone forest. While the area still has unexploded land mines, it's still a destination for tourists and backpackers. The most popular thing to do here is go on tours of a few of the caves. These geological wonders are stunning! I went to the most frequented one, the Phong Nha cave. Cave admission is 150,000 dong, while the boat to get there is 360,000 dong for 14 people.
