JUrtans channel's video: Renault Megane 2 wheel bearing replacement with cheapest bearing press

So probably this wont be the best video you ever have seen, but I made it from what I had, because the process didnt go as smooth as one would like to! Everything started with a great hopes, first I got myself wheel bearing press kit (23Pcs FWD Front Wheel Drive Bearing Press Kit Removal Adapter Puller Pulley Tool) for around $60 including shipping what seemed fire price! Then I kind a thought that I have diagnosed the faulty wheel bearing.. funny stuff, if you read on the internet, that you can diagnose the faulty wheel bearing side, by driving and turning your steering wheel, it didnt work for me. When I was driving and when I turned my wheels to one side I heard extra noise so on the internet it was said that opposite side of turning must be faulty, so I started with that and for my Renault Megane 2 it wasn't true, I replaced all right side first :D so I had to replace both side in the end. Not to end with this the problem when even more further, not only front axel was stuck into the wheel hub and I could not get it out, but I had to drain the gearbox to get all the part to the shop to press out front axel from the wheel hub. And to continue this, car part shop sent me wrong wheel bearing, since there were two different size wheel bearings for my model, so be aware of this, I have 16 inch wheels so probably that is why I have bigger bearings or who knows why, maybe it is not connected with this at all, any way from my 1.5 sci LM0 car I ended up ordering SKF wheel bearing, dimensions - 77.0 mm 42.0 mm 39.0 mm, with abs magnetic stripe and cost me approx. $35 per bearing (model VKBA 3638), before that I ordered smaller bearing model VKBA 3637... Any way when I was ready with this I kind a still had a lot of things to do, so I probably didnt capture all the moments, e.g. how I forgot to install abs bracelet and remembered about it only after I already pressed half way in the bearing, since it was so expensive and I dont think you can press it out by not destroying it I figured out that I can bend the abs holder to half and insert it like that and then try to bend it back and hope that by pressing the wheel bearing in, it will kind a straighten the abs holding ring :) Overall I think it did so, I am still driving and I havent noticed problems, it has been 6 months since I replaced the bearings, I just didnt have time to make a video, since there were a lot of material and I had a little time. To be honest it is not mission impossible to do the work at home at your back yard, but yeah the work can take all sort of unexpected turns and you clearly will need some set of tools, not the regular ones, e.g., wheel bearing press, metal grinder, good quality pliers with bended end to take out snap ring, probably extra jack stand, electrical screwdriver with hammer function to remove brake rotors, extra long pipe to have a good leverage to turn the bearing press bolt! :) Overall Renault Mergane 2 wheel bearing replacement work is nothing impossible, and yeah you can do it without experience, if you never have don this before, however you will need to take a part a lot of parts.. If I have to review my 23Pcs FWD Front Wheel Drive Bearing Press Kit Removal Adapter Puller Pulley Tool which I bought from ebay, well it did the work however it already have some wear after just two bearing removing and installing, just so you know!
