Panasonic Aquarea 5kW Monobloc (R32) WH-MDC05J3E5 Installing (short version), testing, using for 3 months and overall Review Last year our old HVAC started to leak gas, and since it was hard to control it we decided to buy a new one! First we focused on Daikin, almost was ready to buy it, but although it is excellent choice, they only had Split versions and we got advised that Daikin heat pumps have very sensitive electronics inside for its own protection so we were not sure how it will work with our current boiler and radiator system so I started to look for other brands. SO we ended up with Panasonic Aquarea 5kW Monobloc (R32) WH-MDC05J3E5, we thought 5kW will be enough for our small area of hearing ( I would guess not more than 65m2) although piping is not the most efficient and house by it self is not fully insulated, however it has a new windows, insulated walls from inside and some part has insulated floor as well. All house is heated by only radiators and we have an old boiler for HVAC system without any sensor in it and an extra buffer tank for heating system (however I am not sure if it is useful at all). Of course there are a few problems, first is that we bought a model which was advertised that it works efficient even when temperatures outside goes under -25C, what time to time happened in a city where I live, so in the end we ended up with a heat pump made for a bit more moderate weather not as cold weather where we live, and was a bit disappointing to find in the manual it is recommended to use this up to -20C... And in manual it is said it it is efficient up to -15C, however from my experience as well under -15C it is still efficient. Any way, since we already had bought this one and it cost approximately 3700 EUR, not a much left and now we have to live with this, only later on I learnt that there are Panasonic T-CAP models, made for more harsh weather, however they usually are not that small as we needed and a lot more expansive. However during these 3 months December was extraordinary cold, even sometimes temperature was close to -20C, or might be lower than that. So I had a chance to see what is happening when outside gets really cold, and yes, the COP wen down, sometimes even close to 1, but heat pump worked nice, kept everything running and didnt give any problems at all. On my video you can see how I installed the heat pump, I connected it to already existing piping system, so I didnt show that part, more or less it is not hardest installation and since it is monobloc you dont have to fill it with any gas, it is pre-filled. All you need is having a little skill of piping and a bit of skill of basic electricity knowledge and a skill of learning the manual. To be honest manual is very detailed and will tell you what exactly you have to do, so you can install it even yourself. From the point of wiring there are just a few wires you have to connect, two main electricity wires, one main control panel wire and water boiler temperature wire (if you have it and you need it, I bought it extra) and that is about it :) Overall the Panasonic Aquarea 5kW Monobloc is a good choice, if you are looking for a reliable HVAC, which can be installed rather easily and the best part, if you are looking for a air to water pump which is very quite!! (in the house it is impossible to hear it and outside you will most probably notice it is working when you will go next to it and get a cold air in the face not from the sound) and of course it wont take any extra space into your home (what was our next problem if we would go for SPLIT, since the old SPLIT version took different dimension in the house than new one, which we wanted to buy in the beginning) . -MDC05J3E5
