JagRail's video: 130 kmph RDSO COCR High Speed Trial Run in Southern Railway s Chennai Central - Renigunta section

@130 kmph RDSO COCR High Speed Trial Run in Southern Railway's Chennai Central - Renigunta section
Watch the 130kmph high speed trial conducted in the Chennai Central - Renigunta - Chennai Central section of Southern Railway as part of Indian Railways' Mission Raftaar. This video was taken at Korattur on December 12, 2020, which was the return run of the COCR Trial rake from Renigunta to Chennai Central via Arakkonam Junction. The LHB rake comprises all its variants and was led by Erode Electric Locomotive Shed's first WAP7 'Cauvery'. The approximate speed while passing was found to be 132kmph ~ 137kmph. This trial is part of the works to upgrade the Maximum Permissible Speeds of the Golden Quadrilateral and both of its diagonals to at least 130kmph. This South-West line of the quadrilateral connects the cities of Chennai and Mumbai via Arakkonam, Renigunta, Gooty, Guntakal, Wadi, Gulbarga, Solapur and Pune. The successful upgradation of MPS will not only cater to the Chennai - Mumbai section, but also to the Chennai - Bangalore and Chennai - Salem - Erode - Coimbatore - Palakkad - Trissur - Ernakulam - Thiruvananthapuram / Shoranur - Calicut - Kannur - Mangalore bound trains! Though a short distance, those trains too will be able to enjoy 130 kmph run in the suburban section from Villivakkam to Arakkonam. © 2020, JagRail
