Captures of stations, viz. Chidambaram, Kille, Porto Novo (Parangipettai), Puduchatram (Branch to Cuddalore IL&FS Thermal Power Station), Alapakkam, Capper Quarry and Cuddalore Port Junction are present in this part. As always associated with the Mainline the rivers and streams crossed by the train include Palaman, Vellar river, Uppanar, Buckingham Canal, Pasimuthan Odai. The motive of this journey was to document Diesel action for one last time before electric locomotives begin to invade this section, which needless to say, was once a delightful diesel territory entirely free from poles and wires. For those interested in Electric Locomotives and Railway Electrification, this video might serve as an update to view the completed status of Villupuram - Mayiladuthurai Railway Electrification that was carried out by the Rail Vikas Nigam Limited (RVNL), a Government of India enterprise under the Ministry of Railways for the Indian Railways as a part of completely electrifying the Main Line section of Southern Railway belonging to the Tiruchchirappalli (Tiruchi / Trichy) Division. It was a close call to have captured and experienced this journey as it is behind a diesel locomotive since all three pairs of passenger shuttles between Villupuram and Mayiladuthurai switched to electric traction a couple of days later. 56876 Mayiladuthurai - Villupuram Passenger is a daily train operated by the Tiruchchirappalli division of Southern Railway. ______________ Watch the First Episode of this three part journey compilation on board 56876 Mayiladuthurai - Villupuram Passenger which features the journey from Mayiladuthurai to Chidambaram https://youtu.be/LNUmX733B5w Watch the tRAILer of this three part journey compilation of 56876 Mayiladuthurai - Villupuram Passenger https://youtu.be/jt80TJLGuNY Watch the second part of a full journey compilation on board 56881 Katpadi - Villupuram Passenger passing through Tiruvannamalai and Tirukovilur on its last before run behind a diesel locomotive. https://youtu.be/tC0YWTBG5jg Watch the first part of a full journey compilation on board 56881 Katpadi - Villupuram Passenger on its last before run behind a diesel locomotive. https://youtu.be/DILI2auPzmg Watch an EMU Reverse at Pallavaram https://youtu.be/AlcmnHDLUS0 Watch a parallel action between an EMU and an Express https://youtu.be/azD1J95tmyQ The detour line from Takkolam to Arakkonam was commissioned & opened for service last year.
