James Nickel's video: HONDA NC750s DCT

@HONDA NC750s DCT
Honda NC 750s DCT DCT makes for an excellent city bike! Dct means dual clutch transmission....on a motorcycle....go figure! LOL! At first I laughed...DCT? Dual clutch transmission? On a bike?! You're kidding? LOL! Now I am a believer. 😏 This is the new 2019 Honda NC 750 S With 6 speed dual clutch transmission, dct for short. It's a little different than the more popular NC 750 X in that this is the naked version, it has a 40 mm Lower seat height and is more sport oriented. I hear the nc750x outsells the s version 10 to 1. There is a manual transmission in addition to the dct....they both have 6 gears. This bike is stock and has 600 miles on the clock. From the factory, the dct version of the bike weighs 227 kg and I have added a Honda OEM centre stand, SW Motech crash bars (germany), Hepco Becker pannier racks (germany), and a Puig Touring windscreen (spain). It now tops the scales at exactly 240 kg. Even with 54 bhp and a reasonable amount of torque it still moves very quickly! Even the OEM exhaust system sounds pretty reasonable. That will be my, Jim Nickel, my next upgrade. Check this video out where my son and I go for a fun ride ....see how this dual clutch transmission is especially handy in central London where I live! Check the speedo and GEAR DISPLAY NEXT TO THE SPEEDO...she shifts crisply! This shows the gear the transmission has selected in Honda Auto DCT mode on the level 2 setting. The Modern Honda DCT is tops! Traffic on a Saturday is usually much heavier but as coronavirus lockdown is in effect the streets of London are quite empty! Not the usual mayhem and traffic snarls. Nonetheless, the bike is nimble and the dct shifting is flawless and fast up and down. I prefer the dct sport modes! *TODAY I HAVE THE DCT MODE SET TO "SPORT 2" AND IT SHIFTS THE BIKE AT HIGHER REV'S. To the right of the speed display is the gear selected automatically including downshifts! There is no lag or hesitation with this DCT leaving lights/intersections and it is the ideal bike for busting the usual frustrating heavy Central London traffic! With my touring additions, The neutral seating position of the bike will also prove to be the perfect pan European touring machine! The bike cruises easily at 80+ mph. ****Note: Don't get me wrong- I love shifting Motorcycles up and down through the gears but a recent issue with my clutch hand necessitated trying This potential dct solution was suggested and it's turned out great...... I LOVE it! All the best and thanks for watching!
