HI! Today I'm showing you clips from the beginning and end of our 2019 flower season! I would have to say that the sunflowers definitely stole the show this year! These sunflowers were on average 13 feet tall and the tallest one grew to be 20 feet! This bunch of sunflowers were so exciting to watch, it seemed that every morning that we checked on them, they grew a noticeable difference over night, my kids especially enjoyed watching these beauties! I also really loved the selection of wild flowers and cosmos that we planted! It's incredible to think that all of these bold, healthy and beautiful flowers all started from seed and I'm already plotting some new ideas that I want to try with flowers for spring and summer next year TIP: Try your luck at planting seeds next year - they are so much less expensive than buying matured flowers and (from my experience) always seem healthier than the flowers that I buy from stores. Finding a packet of wild flowers (native to your region) has always worked out so well for me, as wild flowers seem to be able to withstand more and really thrive on their own. Watching nature do it's thing has been amazing to observe! I always plant my flower seeds in the beginning of May. Some of my favorite flowers to plant from seeds are: Sunflowers, cosmos, zinnias, coneflowers and the assortment packs of wildflowers. TIP: Planting perennials is a great investment to the landscaping of your outdoors. Perennials are expected to come back year after year, just make sure to do some research on their requirements before planting them (i.e. how much sun they need, how much water they require and what type of zone and soil is best for them) TIP: The wave petunia flowers grow much bigger and fuller than any other brand of petunias that I have seen!
