Jared Leisek's video: The Aerial Beauty of an Old Central Oregon Homestead - Captured with Sony NEX-5R and XP2 Quadcopter

@The Aerial Beauty of an Old Central Oregon Homestead - Captured with Sony NEX-5R and XP2 Quadcopter
I had the good fortune of being invited out to enjoy the beauty of an old Central Oregon Homestead from the late 1800's. As the story goes, two brothers homesteaded the parcels with one brother to the West and one to the East as seen in the two existing homes still standing. Between the properties was and still is an old barn which was used as a Stage Coach stop back in the day. As I understand, Les Schwab once owned the property, later sold it and is currently being listed for sale. I appreciate the invite from Jim Coon of Alleda Real Estate http://alledarealestate.com for letting me tag along, flying and filming the property and buildings using a Powered Paraglider and XP2 Quadcopter. Not many will get to see history like this and so I wanted to do what I could to share the beauty of the day in the edit of this video. Video Equipment XP2 Quadcopter from http://www.xproheli.com =3_1_Homestead Sony NEX-5R Settings: 1080p 60p, Sony Lens 16mm, Shutter 1/320, F9-11, ISO 200, Manual Focus, Wide Angle Converter using Landscape Mode For work related request: http://snipfilms.com http://youtube.com/leisek http://twitter.com/jaredleisek http://facebook.com/snipfilms Disclaimer ~ I Do Not Own any of the Music Rights, am not selling or trying to make money on the music contained in this video. Music: Fort Minor - Where'd You Go (Bobby Skillz Remix) Free Download: https://soundcloud.com/bobbyskillz/fort-minor-whered-you-go-bobby Editing Final Cut Pro X at 1080p 29.97 For this edit, I used stabilization in FCPX on most aerial shots set between 0.30 to 3.00 FCPX stabilization default is 2.5. Color correction of Hardlight adjusted to 50% for most clips. Saturation boost of 10% and some exposure adjustments. All transitions were Cross Dissolve with most set at 2 seconds No FPV (first person view) was used for any of my Quadcopter flying. All of it was line of sight. I hope this video inspires your imagination for what can be possible when you add aerial footage to your edits. The XP2 Quadcopter is the most powerful, lightest, and stable quadcopters for aerial video. The size and portability of the XP2 allows you to quickly transport, fly, and capture amazing aerial videos almost anywhere. I'm never opposed to being sponsored, collaborating with other photographers, videographers, YouTubers or selling some of my work. I can always use cash for more equipment, warm weather gear, camera's, computer's, editing software, fuel and of course travel so I can hit more locations. Anything else, just hit me up or leave me a comment. I appreciate you watching and do ask that you subscribe to my channel as well. Thanks. ===================== A note to newbies and/or really everybody. Flying over water, trees or into the back country can be dangerous. Even with a quick release harness, and flotation devices, something could still go wrong. This is a risk/reward and you as a pilot must weigh your skill level, your desires and if you can afford to retrieve and/or replace your equipment should you not be able to recover it. For me personally, it's a risk worth taking. I can always use more flying buddies. If anybody is interested in meeting up or getting started in the sport of powered paragliding, just drop me a line. I'll try to give you a quick rundown and hope the following info helps. Proper training... Don't try learning on your own from watching a few videos. Don't do a half day, 1 day or 3 day training. Real training is a good 6-10 days and usually runs around $2500 for lodging, training and use of instructor equipment. If you find an instructor who will have you flying after the first day, run away. You should be on the ground for the first 3-5 days learning nothing but glider control. Only after you can control your wing with your eyes closed, then and only then should you add a motor. Yup, you will be flying and you want to be properly trained. As for equipment, I'm happy to share what I fly and why. Like any sport, you have options. There is cheap equipment, equipment that lacks safety and higher end Cadillac equipment. What is your skill level? Are you a newbie or have you been in the sport a while? At the end of the day, I'm happy to fly with anybody who wants to fly regardless of choice. As for equipment cost... For what I fly, you can get into the sport on a good used setup for $7k-9k or $12k-$13k new which includes your motor, wing and reserve. Can't beat that price for personal flight. Best thing is it all packs up as small and fits in the trunk of your car if needed.
