The temple of Seto Machindranath is located in Jana Bahal (also known as Machhindra Bahal). Located between Ason and Indra Chok in central Kathmandu, the temple is believed to have been established around the 10th century. Seto Machindranath is worshipped as an aspect of Avalokiteshvara. Every year, the deity's image is placed in a chariot and paraded around Kathmandu.[1] This festival is known as Jana Baha Dyah Jatra. The deity is bathed and repainted every year as a ritual that symbolizes the changes occurring throughout our lives. Seto Machhendranath Rath Jatra is the taken from its shrine off Asan Tol, Kathmandu, Nepal. As we all know that Asal Tol, located in center of Kathmandu city is the places in a towering chariot. In all, this festival Seto Machhindranath ratha yatra takes four days to complete, the chariot stopping at specific places each night where the image is worshipped and cared for by the inhabitants of that locality. The chariot of Seto Machhindranath is towed on 1.8 metres diameters. There are wheels dragging by hundreds of young boys is very spectacular views, as its scale dwarfs the streets through which it passes. Seto Machhindranath Rath is usually moved from one stopping place to the other in the early evening. On the fourth of final day the chariot is dragged around a tree in Lagan, after which the deity is transported back to its temple on a small palanquin. Chaite Dashain also marks the starting days of Seto Machhendranath rath (chariot) festival. The chariot festival of God Seto Machhindranath celebration of the lord of compassion begins on this day. The shrine of Seto Machhendranath Rath yatra is located inside the courtyard of Janabahal, at the heart of Kathmandu city. On the first day of Seto Machhindranath festival the image of the god Machindranath is placed in a special chariot. Built with cane and timber the main body of the chariot is very tall. Seto Machhendranath Rath (chariot) is the huge wooden wheels of the chariot measure up to 6 feet in diameter. Rath is pulled around the main streets of proper Kathmandu valley for four days. On the first day, the deity is brought to Jamal by the priests. Then it is pulled to Asan, Kathmandu via Ratna Park and Bhotahity. The next day it is pulled from Asan Kathmandu to Hanumandokha. Finally it is pulled to Lagantole via Maruhity and Jaisideval.
