Jeff McNeal's video: It s Impossible - Perry Como tribute cover

@It's Impossible - Perry Como (tribute cover)
Well, I figured that since I broke new ground yesterday by covering Engelbert Humperdink, I had nothing left to lose by throwing Perry Como into the mix. This is as close as I'll ever get to sounding similar. Even though he was more of my parents generation and I was never really into his music or persona, I am now pushing sixty years old (January 2020) and my perspective on a lot of things has changed a bit. Still, a beautiful love song is a beautiful love song and let's not forget it was a top ten hit on the Billboard Hot 100 chart in 1970, not to mention number one on the AC charts. So it was definitely a crossover hit. It's hard to imagine there were radio stations back then that would play something by the Doors, and then after the next commercial break, launch into something like this, but it happened. Perry Como had an extraordinary career and life. And he made it all look so casual and easy. That's a life well lived. So now, I've covered Sinatra, Dean Martin, Tom Jones, Engelbert Humperdink and now, yes now... the great crooner, Perry Como, who I can't hold a candle to. He is also one of the reasons why I've never owned a cardigan sweater since the third grade and probably never will again. LOL. If the backing track sounds extraordinarily good, it's because I think it was the original, sans Mr. Como's vastly superior vocals. Cheers.
