Jenn Summer's video: Bristles Memoir Narrative and Photos

My mother visited me this weekend and blessed me with an amazing gift; my great-grandfather’s paint brush. Old and tattered, he christened it with his initials. His work fills my home. He studied under acclaimed portrait artist Frank Duveneck, had a piece in the Cincinnati Art Museum, and sketched a depiction of the flood of 1937 which was cataloged in the Cincinnati Public Library: http://digital.cincinnatilibrary.org/digital/collection/p16998coll11/id/2681 This is the first piece of creative writing I’ve done since I was diagnosed in February of 2017. I held his brush and I could feel his energy pulse through me and the words just came out without thought or direction. I am still learning video and I know the proper technique would have been to set up a tripod and not have shaky transition shots, but I just wanted to get this out. I’m new to video, both taking and editing, but I’m enjoying the learning process and wanted to share part of my amazing family history.
