Join me for another classic LEGO Harry Potter review of the 4730 Chamber of Secrets set from 2002, a 591 piece set recreating Salazar Slytherin's Chamber of Secrets and including Harry Potter, Ron Weasley, Gilderoy Lockhart, Tom Riddle and Ginny Weasley minifigures and a fantastic LEGO Basilisk with glow-in-the-dark fangs. As well as a detailed review of the LEGO Harry Potter Chamber of Secrets 4730 set, I also rebuild this vintage LEGO Harry Potter set in a 90 second speed build and retell how the heir of Slytherin uses the Basilisk to try and purge Hogwarts School of mud bloods. The Chamber of Secrets is thoughtfully recreated in LEGO and includes a likeness of Salazar Slytherin from which a magnificent LEGO Basilisk emerges. This includes some really nice printed LEGO elements and Moaning Myrtle's bathroom up on the second floor which opens up when spoke to in parcel tongue to reveal the entrance to The Chamber of Secrets. Enemies of the heir better be on their guard! Interactive features of this 2002 LEGO Harry Potter Chamber of Secrets set include a trap door in Moaning Myrtle's bathroom which reveals the entrance, Dumbledore's pet Phoenix Fawkes which is a superb custom-molded LEGO element and details from the movie including The Sorting Hat and The Sword of Godric Gryffindor which Harry Potter uses to slay the Basilisk. Tom Riddle's diary is also included and is a really nice printed element which can be stabbed using the Basilisk's glow-in-the-dark fangs. This is a great classic LEGO Harry Potter set and highly collectable with the rare LEGO Basilisk making up almost a third of the set's value. It is perfectly themed to match the scenes in Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets and has a great Gilderoy Lockhart minifigure in the rare LEGO sand red color. I take time to compare the LEGO minifigures to their characters in the movie and to re-tell the story in LEGO.
