We're cringeworthy types We stare at the night sky Writing dumb poetry about The solace in the city lights And we croon about love Like it's something that we trust And we listen to music like It's written just for us See us thunderheads live in boxes Of play pretend And we live off pretty words and fairy-bread But our seasons come in fancy dress And they leave our house a drunken mess And we wonder who'd invite such reckless guests I could have been so many things If I hadn't clipped my own damn wings Why can't I just commit to anything?
