@Air Canada Vickers Viscount & Vanguard | Unbelievable Historical Discovery in 2022
EBAY LISTING: https://www.ebay.com/itm/255784575335 This video will serve as an historical statement of provenance regarding the Air Canada Vickers Vanguard Vickers Viscount items described in this video, as presented by Henry Tenby. Items as described in the video as follows: Air Canada Vickers Vanguard cabin window No. 1) Part number CD4Q68 Air Canada Vickers Vanguard cabin window No. 2) Part number REV D1Q68 Air Canada Vickers Vanguard cabin window No. 3) Donated to Air Canada Museum - Montreal October 2022 Part number - none visible Air Canada Vickers Vanguard intact emergency exit cabin window with complete aircraft installation hardware and handle Label by Air Canada maintenance for aircraft FIN CF-TKS Aircraft scrapped at Montreal Dorval in 1973 Part number - none visible Air Canada Vickers Vanguard front nose air supply intake nostril plug Label by Air Canada maintenance for aircraft FIN CF-TKM Aircraft scrapped at Montreal Dorval in 1973 Part number - none visible Air Canada Vickers Vanguard cockpit window starboard side, aft position. This must be from one of the two Air Canada Vickers Vanguards that were scrapped at Montreal Dorval in 1973, either aircraft FIN CF-TKM or FIN CF-TKS Part number - 90031-287 ISSUE B MOD 5 L2 94.V. The purpose of the valve on each of the windows was to equalize the pressure between the inside and outside panes of glass and the aircraft cabin as the aircraft climbed and then later descended. The electrical connectors to the cockpit windows were to heat those windows to prevent fogging and also to keep them slightly less than completely rigid so that a bird strike would not necessarily cause the glass to fracture. The actual de-icing of the cockpit windows would be done by other means. It seems logical that the accompanying cabin windows listed above Air Canada Vickers Vanguard windows 1), 2) and 3) must have been acquired by Fred Prior at the same time as the Vanguard nostril plug and the Vanguard cockpit window panel, most likely circa 1973 as the aircraft were in the process of being scrapped.
