Jim Walker Archery & Videography's video: Archery Drawing Techniques Personal Assessment Archery

@Archery Drawing Techniques & Personal Assessment | Archery
Just an archery related video presenting "Archery Drawing Techniques & Personal Assessment". In this video, I'll be presenting a series of 18 clips trying subtly different archery draw techniques at different draw weights. I wasn’t originally going to share these but after viewing some of my failures I figured what the heck. Maybe what I'm showing here will give you some thoughts on improving your own archery draw technique. Sorry, no drama in this video. This series of clips are more for checking different draw techniques and the quality of my back tension than anything else. I'm not recommending one type of draw technique over another, at least not in this video. Please feel free to offer recommendations or comments. To start, I'll be using a standard Saunders Power Pull Archery Trainer, which you can find on Amazon for $30. This two-band trainer has a 30 and 40-pound band, which when combined can provide a 75ish pound draw experience. I'll be trying a series of draw techniques from a horizontal draw, rotation draw, and ending in a number of push down draw attempts. None of this is rehearsed. What you see here is a series of first attempts, about as raw as it gets. Yes, I know I need a lot more practice. Be kind... My general goal is to find which draw technique allows me to shoot at higher draw weights, out to 70 pounds. So let's start by testing the lowest and highest bands weights at 28 inches on a fish scale to start... +++ Workbenches and archery—it's a thing. Fun times!
