One of the largest, most ferocious dinosaurs to ever live and also the largest, most savage carnivorous dinosaur to live, the Spinosaurus grew to be as much as 50 feet long, 20 feet high and could weigh as much as 7-21 tons. They roamed the tidal flats of Northern Africa in places such as Egypt, Tunisia and Morocco approximately 95 million years ago. They lived both on land and in water, similar to a crocodile, savaging their prey in both environments. Their diets consisted of mostly large river fish and sharks. The Spinosaurus became extinct around 95 million years ago due to its environment drying up which in turn reduced the prey and increased competition from other large predators.
