Jo Ellen Litz's video: 7 6 23 Monument Park Discussion

Lebanon PA, July 6, 2023: Referencing a social media discussion, Commissioner Litz requested that Purchasing Agent Danielle Emerick and Maintenance Supervisor Steve Klein develop a plan and price “period Victorian” signage, lights, benches, and flower pots as well as an aluminum flag poll for Monument Park. A community discussion revealed that all of the lights are not working. Lights are few and far between, and there is unwanted activity in the Park after dusk, when the Park is closed. So citizens know they were be heard, Commissioner Litz wanted to initiate a discussion today. For a vote to proceed, commissioners Kuhn and Phillips wanted to wait until Jamie returned. Commissioner Kuhn also pointed out that veterans suggested no events should be held in the Park, which is considered hallowed ground. Commissioner Litz then reminded everyone that enforcement is initiated by neighbors calling the police to report violations, and then concurred to wait to have a follow-up discussion when Administrator Wolgemuth returned. Commissioner Litz distributed copies of the Facebook conversation.
