Lebanon PA, March 15, 2023: Facebook Live Prison Board meeting March 15, 2023. Commissioner Litz asked for a discussion, and made a motion to hold Prison Board meetings at the courthouse when CoVid positive is inside the jail. Today, one inmate is CoVid positive. She stated that not only can the Board and visitors to the meeting carry CoVid into the jail increasing risk to inmates and employees as well as liability for the County, visitors and the Board contain at risk groups like seniors and immuno compromised individuals. She further stated that we should be proactive to protect everyone. Title 61, Chapter 17, Subchapter C applies to counties of the...fifth class.... While meetings are required to be held monthly, only one quarterly meeting must be held at the county correctional facility. The remainder of meetings could continue at the courthouse. Her request was denied 4 to 1. During the height of the pandemic, while under an emergency, all Prison Board meetings were held at the courthouse. Plaques were awarded to Jonathan Bell and Marilyn Nolte for their decades of service. The Warden reported that the ratio between tablets and inmate is currently one-to-one.
