Of the two, Trey Parker and Matt Stone’s Team America probably had the quickest impact, as it satirized global events that were taking place at the time, making it a lightning rod for controversy. However, it was also a pretty big box office hit. However, Mike Judge’s Idiocracy ended up buried by its home studio, 20th Century Fox (now owned by Disney), with it essentially going direct-to-DVD.
