Joel Walden's video: Guillermo del Toro - The Works

@Guillermo del Toro - The Works
Guillermo del Toro is an imaginative powerhouse of a director. Being one of the modern dons of the both the fantasy and horror genres, he's an incredibly versatile filmmaker. The tone of Del Toro's work in blending these genres can range from something fun and action packed like 'Hellboy' to something as brutally emotional and heartbreaking like Pan's Labyrinth. He's a man who has an impeccably thorough understanding of storytelling, character and above all, inspiring wonder in the audience. With all of the extreme care and attention to detail that Guillermo puts into his work, his filmography feels like a slew of passion projects. While editing this entry in 'The Works' it was amazing to watch this particular director evolve from making smaller horror flicks like 'Cronos' to massive summer blockbusters like 'Pacific Rim' (which I am incredibly excited to see this July) without losing touch with his craft. You can experience that now too. So sit back, relax, and dive into the imagination of Guillermo del Toro. I do apologize for the lack of entries in 'The Works' as of late. Things have been extremely busy on my end with finishing up school and jumpstarting my professional editing career (I can be contacted at joel.walden237@gmail.com if you're ever looking for an editor). However, I can promise that a few more directors will be given 'The Works' treatment in the coming months. Who's next you ask? Well, I felt he was a "logical" choice. I'd also like to send a special thanks to Nick Bosworth for his thoughts and insight during the editing process.
