Tuscaloosa has dumped 350,027 gallons of raw sewage into Cottondale Creek above the PARA park on Hwy 216. From the amount of sewage waste left on the ground by sewer crews I'd say it could be a week or more before the bacteria levels are safe. I was sorely disappointed in Mayor Walt Maddox explanation that it rained a lot so the sewer overflowed. Mr. Mayor, we both know this is a closed collection system and should never have rain / storm water influx at all! If that much "rain" got in the lines, there is a major issue of broken, cracked, and degraded pipes! I am not stupid enough to but the simple rain excuse.
