When the Bakken crude oil train derailed and exploded, pouring thousands of gallons of toxic Bakken Crude oil in a marsh just outside of Aliceville Alabama, I went to cover it and get samples. On my way home from a water sample trip to that swamp I followed this train load of crude into Tuscaloosa Alabama Via Northport, over one of the oldest bridges around. This old bridge has seen a lot of wear and it shows in the multiple repairs visible on both sides of the Black Warrior River. What would happen if one derailed while suspended over a city like this? It's time to Stop the train and examine the full consequences of LAC-MÉGANTIC, Que. Canada.
