Still Livin' the Blues's video: Blues History in the Heartland - Robert Johnson in Steele MO - The Guitar

@Blues History in the Heartland - Robert Johnson in Steele, MO - The Guitar...
There is a whole lot of beautiful land, and maybe some legend, down in the Missouri bootheel. I took a trip down Hwy 61 and ended up in Steele, MO. Steele is about 14 miles north of Blytheville, Arkansas. In the early 20th century, Blytheville was a hot spot for blues acts to stop in and play. People like Robert Johnson, Johnny Shines, Son House, and many others frequented the area...especially while traveling north towards St. Louis. In one interview from the late 1980's, Johnny Shines mentioned that Robert Johnson once bought a flat top guitar in Steele. He wondered aloud if the guitar Robert held in this '86 released, "Dime Store Photo" was the one he got in Steele. The photo has been dated to be from the early 1930's... So, here is the question... Could the guitar Robert got in Steele, MO, be the one he took down to the crossroads? The one ole Scratch tuned for him? Just something to think about... ;) Thanks for watching!
