Former MSNBC host Melissa Harris-Perry said that was would not be used as a tool by MSNBC. However, The facts does not support her statement. The host has for years carried the narrative of the very liberal network. In the email she wrote, “The purpose of this decision seems to be to provide cover for MSNBC, not to provide voice for MHP Show. I will not be used as a tool for their purposes. I am not a token, mammy, or little brown bobble head." It is unfortunate that hosts like Mrs. Harris-Perry are being used by the networks like MSNBC. Her departure is just a reminder of the importance for blacks to control the narrative, even at the cost of the corporate paychecks.
