I attended this place by flight from East Bay to Los Angeles for this location test only. It is an insane way to go somewhere for a short weekend for that purpose. — Disclaimer — I am simply a consumer, and do not represent anyone from any company. ——— I followed a bunch of news about exA-Arcadia since the beginning of its inception from forum posts to news blogs. When I saw this location test announcement on Twitter, I knew I had to make a shot, and feel lucky enough to do so because it was on a Labor Day weekend. When I arrived to that location, I felt thrilled to not only see it’s dedicated for player cabinet, which is obviously designed to appeal to FEC’s, there are also games put on smaller cabinets that support single and two players. I got a chance to play some other games by myself as well as a few fellows who are passionate about the new game system or simply want to try it out. Surprisingly, I’ve actually a countered a few people who are involved in developing games for the exA-Arcadia platform as well as one who actually inspects the cabinets and the games used for the location test, and they were all knowledgeable about the new game system and the hardware being used for the location test. Seeing that small but sizable active community around that location test for the new game system makes me feel more excited and hope that more arcade establishments and street operators pick up the system and bring it everywhere. That also makes me want to develop a game for the platform, but the high quality standards, and exA-Arcadia really mean high quality standards, makes me want to develop a game for PC and console first before making a better version for the arcades.
