As I get older, I want honest, up front communication. If I ask "Do I look fat?" the answer should be the truth or suggested a solution. If I can't handle the truth, than I shouldn't be asking for it. Because "what gets measured, gets improved" I track many things in order to maximize my happiness. We can't fix if it we don't know its broken. With strong communication skills, partners can cut to the chase of any problem and manage it and be in good standing with each other regardless of the results. I love learning about different kinds of communication and different languages and strategies. The last five years, I have read a handful of books that been eye opening and wish to improve on these skills. The examples I am learning are for strategies are used for hostage negotiations, catching foreign spies and other life or death situations. I have absorbed a lot information, but I need to practice and make all this knowledge part of me. Over the last few years, I have been trying to be more soft, less blunt, and to sprinkling a little sugar on the truth. My female friends have this quality and I improving. I can't wait to be able to help people feel validated, to know that others care about them and to give the verbal and non-verbal communication to others.
