From historical perspectives to contemporary issues, we'll examine the challenges Asian American, Native Hawaiians, and Pacific Islanders face in today's society. Join us for Culture Chats, in these facilitated 25-minute discussions, we will engage in riveting conversations that will pique your curiosity and broaden your perspective. You will be more equipped to be an ally and advocate for this diverse community. Here are the topics we'll be discussing: 🔴 Through Two Lenses: Black & Asian Perspectives Join us for a conversation on the intersection of Black and Asian identities, and how it has shaped our understanding of race and identity. 🔴 Where are you REALLY from? Before you ask, understand your impact We'll examine the impact of microaggressions and how they contribute to the perpetuation of harmful stereotypes. 🔴 From Awareness to Action: How to Be an Effective Asian Ally Learn how to be an ally and advocate for Asian Americans, and how to translate awareness into meaningful action. 🔴 What's It Like to Be Hapa? Exploring Multiracial Identity We'll delve into the complexities of multiracial identity, and how it intersects with culture, race, and ethnicity. Be a part of the community and learn more about Asian American culture. These Culture Chats take us a first step towards a deeper understanding of our vibrant community.
