Joseph Grice's video: Threlkeld Steam Gala 25th July 2015

@Threlkeld Steam Gala 25th July 2015
Threlkeld Quarry and mining museum near Keswick in the Lake District of England held their annual Steam Gala, featuring 7 locos in steam and 2 Steam Excavators. With Blencathra Mountain dominating the background, the locos work hard to climb the quarry line. The visiting locos were Quarry Hunslets 'Hugh Napier' and 'Lilla' (from the Ffestiniog Railway), Marchlyn and Quarry Hunslet 'Sybil Mary' (from Statfold Barn Railway), plus 1238 and 'Stanhope' from the Mosley Railway Trust. Resident loco 'Sir Tom' was also featured. The quarry's own Steam Navvy returned to service this year and is the oldest surviving Steam Excavator in the World. A Steam Navvy visiting from Statfold was working at the end of the Quarry line.
