Josh AFJ's video: New Beginnings At Motovlog Alliance

Howdy neighbors! Josh here with a little announcement for you guys and ladies. Scoot posted an announcement yesterday saying that changes are coming. Today I’m here to tell you all what those changes will be. Leaving Amino Amino has been our home since day one. It’s where we grew and it’s where we developed into a fantastic community of motovloggers and riders. I am so happy that I have been able to get to know each and every one of you. Amino has been a great tool, but there are some things that we just have grown not to like about it. The front page and chat features are great, but the biggest downfall is everything we do here has to be done on a phone. There is no desktop app or web app that allows us to participate in chats. That annoyance is going to change with our new platform: Discord. Join Us On Discord Discord is a text and voice chat app mainly used by gamers, but you might notice that a lot of Reddit communities use it to chat as well. The plus side of Discord over Amino is huge. For one you will be able to join our chat on your phone via their mobile app, your web browser, and if you want you can download their desktop app to chat as well. This will allow you to be able to participate in chats basically anywhere! In addition to plain text chats we will also have voice chat rooms set up. That’s right, you will be able to voice chat with your fellow community members on your computer or on your phone! This is going to be revolutionary! All of our current chats are on the new discord server so feel free to jump right in and start the conversation. We will also be open to new chat ideas once we get settled in. MotovlogAlliance.com MotovlogAlliance.com will be the new “front page” of our community. We will be grabbing videos from the video chat and there is a new link up top called “Submit Your Vlogs” Use this link to shoot us your YouTube links once they go live. Once we get them we will put them in the queue to go out to the front page. Having our main content going out to the website will be beneficial because your videos will get logged by search engines and will hopefully be even easier to discover! New Ideas As always we are looking for new ideas from the community. If you have a fresh idea for us now that we are starting with a clean slate please let us know. We are also thinking about possibly setting up a forum for us to chat on as well, but that may or may not happen. Let us know what you think about possibly having a forum attached to the website. So What About Amino? The Amino group will remain as is for a few weeks, but once the majority of our active members have moved over to Discord we will be shutting it down.
