Joshua Naterman's video: The essential barbell gym: Thoughts for Jason V

@The essential barbell gym: Thoughts for Jason V.
This video takes a look at my current gym set up, and which equipment I consider to be fairly essential to a barbell gym: The barbell (duh), a rack of some sort, and a bench of some sort. Your opinions may be different, feel free to share them but try to be polite to each other. My preferred bench: Ironmaster Super Bench (rated for 1000 lbs flat bench and 600 lbs for inclines and the upright position... it is a beast!) $279 USD +39 bucks shipping, and it's preassembled. Total steal. MSRP is 600 bucks but on amazon it's 341 dollars with FREE SHIPPING! This is the telltale sign of poor quality. You should see a flat plate when you look at the end of each bar, with no obvious tool fitting in the center. Within that guideline, whatever bar you like and can afford is a good buy. My favorite "bang for the buck" barbell: Texas Power Bar This is NOT the cheapest bar on the planet, but it is an absolutely incredible bar for the money. I have friends who have gotten these for under 200, but that was for a fitness facility. The following are the best prices I could find in 5 minutes and are both around 300 bucks. You will not need to buy another bar, this is really the best all-around bar. For Olympic Lifting you can practice with this, but if OL is your focus then you really should get an OL bar, not a PL bar. The PL bar is stiffer and thicker than the OL bar. Each is 165 dollars.
