It’s gathering your thoughts and your thanks as well as spending time with your family and friends. Not just friends from many years past, but friends we’ve made in this competition: Event Chorus Battle. Bringing our words down to earth to speak directly on our behalf: This song isn’t just an ode to this time of year, but - for us - it’s a final hurrah to our time together. It encourages us to find happiness together, to find something that we can share and remember every year when the season comes and something inevitably reminds us of the time we spent together. It deeply resonated with us as it not only urges us to enjoy what surrounds us - friends, family, music, the world itself - this holiday, but the meekness and timidity to close the distance in the song mirrors similarly how in our rush to work on our entries and meet deadlines, we didn’t do what needed to be done and say what needed to be said, keeping us from bridging these gaps between each other. Instead, we were so focused on what was in the way, we didn’t look past to see that what we should’ve been doing instead of stressing was focusing on one another. In our haste to crank out an entry and see how we scored in the points, we overlooked how we should be enjoying one another’s company. Though the end of this competition draws ever closer, we’ll treasure this time that we’ve spent together - And as the seasons roll around again and again, we’ll remember all the songs we’ve sung together. We’ll forget the haste and panic and instead remember the laughs we had, the kind words we had to offer, the support we always had for one another. This song marks a special holiday: A happy holiday with family and friends - Including the friends we’ve made during this battle and the wonderful times we’ve shared together.
