As I continue to strengthen my meditation practice, I remind myself to not worry too much that I’m doing it wrong. The reality of my sessions are that I fidget and have tons of running thoughts and I’m ok with that. I know after time and practice I will get there. For now, this is enough. For beginners who are just starting to meditate, it’s important to start with small, manageable sessions and gradually increase the length of time. It’s also helpful to find a quiet, comfortable space where you can sit or lie down without distractions. Focus on your breath and try to clear your mind of any thoughts. Don’t get discouraged if your mind wanders; simply acknowledge the thought and bring your attention back to your breath. With practice, you’ll find that meditation can help reduce stress and increase overall well-being.
