Two steam charter trains came to Cumbria today. The Settle Carlisle Thunderer 1 came from Peterborough to Carlisle, with LMS Stanier Class 8F 48151 being the steam power between Hellifield and Carlisle north and south. The Winter Cumbrian Mountain Express came from London to Carlisle, north via Shap, then south along the Settle line, with SR Merchant Navy Class 35018 British India Line being the steam power between Carnforth and Carlisle, then returning between Carlisle and Preston. 48151 was filmed travelling north through Ribblehead Station, then later 35018 was filmed (in rain) passing south just south of Langwathby.
