Julian Thurgood's video: Cumbrian Mountain Express 6201 and The North Briton 60163 - 20 July 2019 - Carlisle Station

2 charter train tours came to Cumbria today - 'The Cumbrian Mountain Express' from Crewe, with LMS 6201 'Princess Elizabeth' as the steam traction, north from Liverpool via the Settle line, then returning via the West Coast Main Line. Almost immediately after this left, 'The North Briton' arrives from Kings Cross, with steam traction from Doncaster by 60163 Tornado, again north via the Settle line, and returning via the Tyne Valley line. There were a lot of people on Carlisle Station, including some rather annoying diesel trainspotters who were totally oblivious to my existence! As my return train to Whitehaven should have left at the same time as Tornado, I was hoping to get some steam train action from the window of my train, but it was not to be, sadly.
