On April 11th 2014 a special diesel hauled charter train ran from Leeds to Carlisle and back along the Settle line, to celebrate 25 years since the saving of the line. Seen here are a few scenes from the train journey through the carriage window. Michael Portillo was on the trip, and he was the government minister responsible for saving the line from closure, after a huge petition by people wanting to save the line.
