Justin Dean's video: Selena s Song Original Song Moment Of Conception

Selena's Song is so incredibly personal to me, and to the creative journey in general, and it tells a story that any dreamer can identify with in my opinion. The actual writing of this song was over a year long process, and looking back now, I see how the stars aligned to create this very emotional and freeing piece of work. The first part that came was the opening chords and I just loved how the rhythm worked to create a very percussive and (to me), Latin Sound. For over a year, I played around with multiple versions of lyrics and chorus chords that just weren't working, and then one day a friend at the Silverlake Farmers Market played an album of Selena Quintanilla's for me and something clicked. I started to watch videos of Selena's and all over the place, fans of hers showed up in my life. I had already written a few songs in Spanish (Rosalinda, Envuelto En Un Arco, etc.) and then, during a dream, all of the lyrics and chorus chords were delivered to my pen and to my guitar. I was trying to put Album 2 together as well as upload the Moment Of Conception songs, and the urgency to post allowed me to more quickly access that piece of my soul needed to get a usable take. The most important message is that anyone who lives life as a dream, also finds that peace in death, so Selena Quinatanilla's fans (or any fan who have lost a star) should know that they truly are in a better place.
