Justin Dean's video: Shoorah Shoorah Cover Betty Wright

I thought I first heard Betty Wright when DJ Jazzy Jeff mixed her into a Boiler Room Set that I adore, but in actuality I had been a huge fan when I was much younger- so I suppose it was a process of rediscovery that led me to this cover. When I hear a DJ set that I respond to, I will often revisit it at least once per year and over and over, I listened to and loved the music that he put together, but never looked up the individual tracks. About two weeks before she transitioned (RIP), I listened to the DJ Jazzy Jeff Boiler Room that I loved and this time was motivated to looks up the tracks. One song credited Wetty Bright as one of the singers, and in the process of figuring out who Wetty Bright is (also Betty Wright), I re-heard this song and within days was rehearsing and thinking about how dope it would sound with horns from Danny T Levin, who produced my EP. The picture was also fun to edit and came about in the same unexpected way that this video did. Thanks for listening!
