Konark sun temple is a UNESCO World Heritage Site that was build during the year 1250. The temple is dedicated to the Hindu god Surya with 24 wheels and 7 horses, carved from stone. The main temple Shikara, once over 61m high is now in ruins. The Temple has many stories starting from Dharmapada and huge magnet to Kala Pahar attack and floating sun idol. However, all stories related to the Konark temple history remain a source of controversy as none of them have strong proof in any recorded format. Now, the remaining part - Jagamohan is sealed with sand in order to protect it from complete destruction.
