K2M Photography's video: Glen Cove FD Building Fire Glen Street 11-16-19

On the morning of Saturday, November 16th, 2019 the Glen Cove Fire Department was called to smoke from the building next to North Coast Subaru on Glen Street off Cove Street. When firefighters arrived on scene, they were met with smoke showing from a large, two story commercial building. A signal ten [working fire] was transmitted and mutual aid notified. Firefighters worked to get to the fire and extinguish the flames; however, their efforts were hindered by excessive contents throughout the building and strong winds. During the operation firefighters turned to an exterior operating due to deteriorating conditions in the building which despite its appearance was never a firehouse. Among the departments called for mutual aid was Sea Cliff, Bayville, Glenwood, Syosset, Oyster Bay, Roslyn, East Norwich, and Port Washington among others. At least two firefighters were injured battling the blaze – neither serious. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
